This wastage contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and exacerbates food insecurity. Furthermore, the fashion industry is responsible for 10% of global carbon emissions and consumes more energy than the aviation and shipping industries combined. It is estimated that the amount of clothing purchased has doubled in the past 15 years, resulting in significant environmental harm. These alarming statistics highlight the urgent need for individuals and industries to adopt more sustainable consumption and production practices.
