"We all want to feel like we are loved and we matter in this world!"

About:

Siobhan Neilland, founder of OneMama, represents the heart of the OneMama organization. Passionate about making a difference in the world, Siobhan created OneMama to show those in need that they are loved and matter in this world. Inspired by a Ugandan midwife, Mama Jamira, Siobhan found her calling helping people in desperate conditions empower themselves to create change. As she worked to help Mama Jamira’s community, her vision blossomed into creating an organization that encompassed no limits, servicing impoverished communities worldwide. As a successful entrepreneur, Siobhan has taken her keen business sense and transmuted OneMama into a model that will create self-sustainability in each community it supports.

Siobhan also founded ShaBoom Products & Cosmetics as a long term funding venture for the OneMama organization and to show people you can look beautiful with natural products and change the world while you do it! No stranger to poverty and hardship, Siobhan uses her own losses to inspire change and teach the global community how to overcome obstacles to achieve a fulfilling life. “Fighting for my Joy,” is Siobhan’s lifelong motto.

I want to make this a revolutionary social change. We can all find that little inscription in our heart to show that we can make a difference in the world.

Problem:

Can you imagine your wife, your sister, your mother, your daughter birthing a baby alone with no medical supplies, pain medicine, and no one there to help? All over the world, from sub-Saharan Africa to Central America, Asia and even parts of the United States, women are left to give birth alone, without life saving medicines, without pain intervention and without support. You can help to provide women like those you love with the birthing services they need to deliver healthy babies and protect the mother giving her what she needs to survive. OneMama is that help.

Opportunity:

OneMama has developed a unique model for services that can be replicated in the hardest-to-reach communities around the world. Because we honor traditional forms of health care by supporting Traditional Midwives, we gain entry into communities that would not trust western medical techniques. We are able to bring in medical interventions that work to save mothers and infant’s lives, protecting women through childbirth, reducing pain and the birth injuries, prevent HIV transmission from mother to baby, support malaria testing and treatment and providing health education and services to the entire family. Our healthcare services work in conjunction with our economic development programs, which supply families with goods needed to create crafts or crops to sell on our international and local marketplaces — so that eventually clinic members can support their own local, rural clinics. We have created a sustainable model for health care that can be replicated and become sustainable within 5-10 years.

I am bringing SENS to Life by creating Sustainable prorgrams that are for profit and non-profit organizations to fund the OneMama clinics around the globe, to help the 2 billion people on this planet that live under $1 a day and have babies in those condidtions.
