"Social entrepreneurship is eating spaghetti and tomato sauce for the first two, three years." Hans Reitz

About:

Studied business in Groningen and Rotterdam with exchanges to McGill Montreal and HEC Paris. Graduated from the CEMS Master’s in International Management in 2010, then went to Google Dublin for an internship. Worked as a strategy consultant for a little over a year and now working as a sales rep for The New Motion, a company that sells charging stations for electric cars. In the mean time I have co-founded SENStation and am working on my dream to make social business the standard way of future business.

Problem:

Social business is a relatively young sector. It is therefore very rich of young and exciting people and initiatives. However, it also lacks some of the infrastructure that the regular business sector does have. Therefore, many promising initiatives do not reach their full potential, because their founders lack the resources, skills or connections that could make their project successful.

Opportunity:

SENStation is an online platform that brings together these people with each other and other people and organizations that can help them reach their potential. It is designed as a platform for co-creation, where social entrepreneurs meet to share and develop their social business ideas. Through giving (aspiring) social entrepreneurs a place to showcase their projects and meet others that can help them develop, we support the overall success of the social business sector and increase overall social value.
